Pedal-loom rebozo
A pedal-loom rebozo is woven to length on a foot-pedal loom — telar de pedal — as a finished rectangle. The fringe belongs to the cloth. Ours are 100% cotton. That is the authenticity test next to fiber: not cut from a bolt, not an acrylic “doula shawl.” I will not name weavers or towns here. Pedal-loom cotton from Mexico is the fact I can stand on.
A working rebozo is a garment, not a length of yardage with tassels glued on. The loom is how that sentence gets made. Lola’s cloth comes off a foot-pedal loom as the length you buy — 78, 98, 118, or 196 inches — then the warp is finished by hand. The finger-finished fringe has its own name: rapacejo.

How to read it in the hand
Hold the end. The threads should look like they came out of the weave. Hold the body to the light: a grid, not a screen door. Named cotton. Those checks — fiber, woven-to-length, fringe, weave — are the buying test on how to choose a rebozo. The calm materials table is authentic cotton vs acrylic.
Pedal-loom is what we actually sell. I will not say backstrap on this school if the shop says pedal. I will not invent a workshop name to sound more “authentic.” When we can name people with their permission, we will.

- Read the fiber. Ours is 100% cotton. Skip acrylic.
- Confirm it was woven to length, not cut from a bolt.
- Look at the fringe. Rapacejo belongs to the cloth.
- Pick the length for the job: 78 / 98 / 118 / 196 inches, about $29 / $42 / $48 / $70.

Questions
Is every cotton shawl a pedal-loom rebozo?
No. Woven to length, on this kind of loom, as this garment — that is the test. A cut cotton runner with tassels is still not this. See what is a rebozo.
Why not acrylic if it is cheaper?
Acrylic pills, holds heat, and stretches in a way cotton does not when you ask it to hold a hip or a baby. The foil is the ~$17 listing. The comparison is cotton vs acrylic.
Is this a SKU I add at checkout?
