98-inch rebozo

A 98-inch rebozo is about 2.5 meters of 100% cotton — the doula default. About $42 for Lola’s pedal-loom cloth, about 23 inches wide. It covers manteada, hip squeeze, belly bind, and a simple hip carry for most bodies. It is not a full two-shoulder wrap. Check the shop for what is on the shelf; this page is not a stock list.

If you can only buy one length for a birth bag, buy this one. Two of the same 98-inch beat a rainbow of sizes you will not finish. Buying the cloth does not teach the hands — learn techniques from a trained person.

Questions

Why 98 inches and not 196?

Extra length in a birth bag becomes laundry. You do not need 196 inches to sift a belly. Match the cloth to the job — see rebozo sizes.

Is 98 inches wide enough?

Our 98-inch rebozos are about 23 inches wide. Width can vary a little from the loom. We do not cut this cloth from a bolt. Details on how to choose.
